ThreadLite privacy policy
ThreadLite is a Chrome extension that helps supported AI chat pages stay responsive. This policy explains what the extension stores, what it sends to ThreadLite, and what it does not collect.
Summary
ThreadLite does not upload, analyze, sell, or store your AI chat content. It does not use analytics, advertising trackers, telemetry, or retargeting. The extension stores only the settings and license information needed to provide the product.
Information ThreadLite stores locally
ThreadLite stores the following information in browser extension storage:
- Extension settings, such as whether Turbo Chat is enabled and the selected message window size.
- An anonymous install ID used for trial and license status.
- Trial and license status, including whether full access is active.
ThreadLite may also write small runtime state values to page local storage on supported AI chat pages so the page-side runtime can apply the current settings. This state is limited to ThreadLite configuration and license status. It is not a copy of your chat content.
Information sent to ThreadLite servers
The extension contacts the ThreadLite license API at https://threadlite.vercel.app/api/threadlite to check trial status and activate or validate license keys.
Those requests may include:
- The anonymous install ID.
- Trial status information.
- A license key when you choose to activate full access.
- Standard server request information such as IP address, user agent, date, and time, which may appear in hosting logs.
ThreadLite does not send your AI prompts, AI responses, conversation titles, conversation IDs, screenshots, or page contents to ThreadLite servers.
Payments and license provider
If you choose to buy full access, ThreadLite may open a Lemon Squeezy checkout page after you click the purchase button. Lemon Squeezy processes checkout, payment, and license issuing under its own privacy and payment terms.
The browser extension does not call Lemon Squeezy directly. ThreadLite's server-side license API may communicate with Lemon Squeezy to activate or validate a license key.
Permissions
ThreadLite requests only the permissions needed for its single purpose.
- storage: saves settings, anonymous install ID, and trial/license state.
- activeTab: lets the popup ask the current supported page for ThreadLite status.
- tabs: lets the popup find the active tab and open checkout when you choose to buy full access.
- Host permissions: allow ThreadLite content scripts to run on supported AI chat websites and allow calls to the ThreadLite license API.
How ThreadLite uses data
- To provide the extension's fast-load chat view on supported AI chat pages.
- To save your extension settings.
- To provide a trial and verify full-access license status.
- To protect the trial from simple uninstall/reinstall resets.
- To operate and secure the ThreadLite license API.

- ThreadLite does not sell user data.
- ThreadLite does not use user data for advertising.

Sharing
ThreadLite shares data only where needed to provide and protect the product:
- Vercel hosts the ThreadLite website and license API.
- Upstash/Vercel KV may store anonymous install, trial, and license state.
- Lemon Squeezy handles checkout and license issuing when you choose to purchase full access.
ThreadLite may also disclose information if required by law, to investigate abuse or security issues, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale.
Security
ThreadLite uses HTTPS for communication with the ThreadLite license API and checkout providers. License and trial records are kept only for product operation, abuse prevention, support, and legal or accounting requirements.
